Toys for Tots and Trees for Troops

Christmas Tree Recycling Info by County

Christmas is a special time for all Americans regardless of their beliefs and many groups and organizations sponsor donation programs to provide gifts and help for those who are less fortunate. Please consider making donations of usable clothing, furniture, electronics, household goods, nonperishable food and other items to organizations that provide assistance to the elderly, those with mental and physical challenges, those who are still suffering from the effects of our economic downturn or who are living in circumstances that make life more difficult than it should be.

A program that we are particularly appreciative of is the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program. We encourage all of our readers to contribute toys or make other donations to this program. For many years, our U.S. Marines have worked to leave a smile on the face of many a child who would otherwise not have received a gift for Christmas. For more information about this wonderful program, please use the following link: http://www.toysfortots.org.

Another program that we are particularly appreciative of again this year is the Christmas Spirit Foundation. Sadly, once again this holiday season we find too many American families separated because of service to our country as part of our military. The Christmas Spirit Foundation provides Christmas trees to such families through its Trees for Troops program. For more information on this program, please use the following link: http://www.christmasspiritfoundation.org.

Welcome to Recycle Your Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree Recycling Info by County

This blog is designed to provide you with information about how and where in Colorado to recycle your Christmas tree when the holidays are over.

This information is provided as a public service by Sand Dollar Research and the Colorado Municipal League, and it is provided to the public free of charge.  All of the information that is provided on this blog has been made available by the hosting communities, nonprofit organizations and commercial entities.  We try to keep the information as accurate and timely as possible but sometimes circumstances and events require a recycling sponsor to adjust hours, days of operations or to set changed conditions for accepting trees.  Please check with the sponsoring entity before taking your tree to be recycled just in case there has been a change and we have not been notified of it.

We have organized the information by Colorado county.  Just click on the link to the county you are interested in and the information will be displayed.  We have listed each of the cities, nonprofit organizations and commercial recyclers for which we have information.  We will continue to get new information on almost a daily basis.  If your city does not have any information displayed, check back frequently to see if we have received the information.  We will not be posting updated information during the period from Dec. 15, 2012 to Dec. 22, 2012 because the author will be out of the state during that week.  We will resume updates as soon as possible following our return.
